...SEC. 594. CONDUCT BY MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES AND VETERANS OUT OF UNIFORM DURING HOISTING, LOWERING, OR PASSING OF UNITED STATES FLAG.
Section 9 of title 4, United States Code, is amended by striking `all persons present' and all that follows through the end of the section and inserting the following: `all persons present in uniform should render the military salute. Members of the Armed Forces and veterans who are present but not in uniform may render the military salute. All other persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart, or if applicable, remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Citizens of other countries present should stand at attention. All such conduct toward the flag in a moving column should be rendered at the moment the flag passes.'...

I'm running to support Team Isaiah in the 4th annual San Diego Race for Autism on Saturday, March 29, 2008 in Balboa Park (San Diego, CA).
Please join me as I run to support pilot research, educational, outreach and after-school programs for children living with autism in San Diego. Every step you take in the 5K Race represents a child with autism in the San Diego area.
Since 2005, NFAR has awarded more than $144,000 throughout the San Diego community for programs and services to assist those living with autism. To date, NFAR has provided specialized educational programs and equipment to 82 classrooms across 11 school districts within San Diego. For more information, go to www.NFAR.org.

He was the only man to fly in all of America's first three space programs (Mercury, Gemini and Apollo). He logged a total of 295 hours and 15 minutes in space."
I have had the distinct privilege of meeting Capt. Schirra at a book signing in Del Mar, California where he autographed my copy of his book "Schirra's Space".
In honor of his service to our Nation, any commissions from the sale of his book through my Amazon.com affiliate link will be donated to the Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society in Capt. Schirra's name.
I had always hoped that Capt. Schirra, who is an Eagle Scout, would be able to speak at my Son's Eagle Scout Court of Honor.
